چکیده
Forming hydrogels with precise geometries is challenging and mostly done using photopolymerization, which involves toxic chemicals, rinsing steps, solvents, bulky optical equipment. Here, we introduce a new method for in situ formation of well-defined geometry sealed microfluidic chip by interfacial polymerization. The the hydrogel programmed design capillary pinning structures bringing into contact solutions containing precursors from vicinal channels. characteristics (mesh size, molecular weight cut-off) can be readily adjusted. This compatible capillary-driven microfluidics, fast, uses small volumes reagents samples, does not require specific laboratory Our approach creates opportunities filtration, functionalization, hydrogel-based assays, as exemplified rapid, compact competitive immunoassay that step.

On-chip Microscale Distillation for Acetone-water Separation
A silicon-based microscale distillation chip was fabricated consisting of a micro-channel 600 μm in width and 40 cm in length. Micropillars were incorporated in the micro-channel to direct liquid flow from the cooled to the heated end by capillarity. A feed of a 19 mol% acetone-water mixture was separated to 95+ mol% acetone in the distillate and 11 mol% in the bottom stream. This distillation ...

Chip-package interaction and interfacial delamination
In flip-chip package, the mismatch of thermal expansion coefficients between the silicon die and packaging substrate induces concentrated stress field around the edges and corners of silicon die during assembly, testing and services. The concentrated stresses result in delamination on many interfaces on several levels of structures, in various length scales from tens of nanometers to hundreds o...
متن کاملInfection on a chip: a microscale platform for simple and sensitive cell-based virus assays.
The plaque assay has long served as the "gold standard" to measure virus infectivity and test antiviral drugs, but the assay is labor-intensive, lacks sensitivity, uses excessive reagents, and is hard to automate. Recent modification of the assay to exploit flow-enhanced virus spread with quantitative imaging has increased its sensitivity. Here we performed flow-enhanced infection assays in mic...
